How to Restart After You Fall Off Your Planner

Bedside table with a warm lamp and an open book in the evening

You missed a few days. Maybe a few weeks. The planner is staring at you. Here is a way to restart without the guilt.

Do not catch up

Do not go back and fill in what you missed. Skip it. Start with today.

The one-minute restart

  1. Open to a fresh page.
  2. Write today’s date, or do not.
  3. Do a quick brain dump of what is on your mind.
  4. Pick one priority and one tiny first step.

Make the gap smaller next time

Falling off is normal, and it is part of the process. What you can improve is the time between falling off and starting again. Each restart builds that skill.

The Mini JFDI System is built for restarting: short pages and no setup.
