Most morning routine advice assumes you have an hour to spare. If your mornings are tight, that advice just adds guilt. This routine takes six minutes, one minute per step, and you can do it before anyone else is awake or while the coffee brews.
The six steps
- Sit quietly for one minute. You do not need to meditate perfectly. Just sit and breathe.
- Write one affirmation. One short, present-tense line about something you want to be true.
- Write three gratitudes. They can be small. A warm shower counts.
- Write one personal note. A quick thank-you or kind word to someone brightens their day and yours.
- Move your body. A one-minute plank, jumping jacks or push-ups. Whatever you like.
- Review today’s schedule. Know where the day is going before it starts.
Why short beats perfect
A routine you actually do beats an ideal routine you skip. Keeping each step to one minute removes the resistance, which is the whole point of the JFDI approach: make the first step so small you cannot talk yourself out of it.
Try it for a week and notice how the day feels. If one step does not work for you, swap it for something that does.
